This picture popped up in my Facebook memories and got me thinking. This past September was 15 years since we picked up our first 5th wheel from Sunnybrook. As new full time RVers we really didn't know what to expect. There were the wishes, dreams, and hopes of what we wanted to do but there was no indication of the realities that came with this lifestyle. Here we were a couple of goofy middle agers setting out on a new adventure.
Well after 15 years we are now senior citizens with probably over 50,000 miles of RV experience and a different outlook on life as an RVer. Full time RV school is every day for 15 years and I'm sure that we will learn even more in the next 15 years. Saying that, we have a lot of information to share with others but we are in no way experts. For every snag we have come across there were two more waiting up ahead and we dealt with them as they happened. We also learned and equipped ourselves so we would be ready if it happened again. Life is not all unicorns and rainbows.
On a positive note we have seen some amazing, incredible, awesome, and breath taking places in our travels. We have also met wonderful and interesting people along the way and many of them have become good friends. As much as I abhor certain aspects of social media we couldn't have made and kept these friend over the many years and many miles our life has covered. We can get together with someone a fews years after our last meeting and we pick up like it was yesterday. You can only do that with real friends!
It is time for some breakfast and back on the job here in the park. Again we have found some friends from Texas here in Florida who are managing the park and have taken us in as workcampers. It is good to have friends or as Clarence the angel from It's A wonderful Life says,"No man is a failure who has friends". I'd say our RV life is a success.
I will sign off now from our home in Zephyrhills, FL because.....
Home is where we park it,
Frank and Mary
Thought we just met last summer at your workamping gig, we both consider you friends! I love picking Mary's brain about your travels as we have only been full time going on 6 years now and we still love this lifestyle! There is always something to learn and that keeps life fun! Enjoy your time in Florida, looking forward to spending the summer with you in South Dakota!
