Florida is as close to having a home base as we get. This is where the kids, grandkids, and lots of our friends are, so there is a good chance this is where we will winter for the foreseeable future.
Our trip to the FMCA Rally in Perry Georgia was a success on several levels. The first thing was the rally itself. We met a lot of like minded people and made some friends. The second part were seminars that, even though we are seasoned RVers, still gave us a few ideas to keep in our mental tool box. We also were able to share some of the things we have learned over the last 17 years on the road.
But the third, and to us the most important part, was we got out on the road again. Sitting in one spot for any length of time makes us rusty to the travel routine. We brushed off our RV skills for breaking and making camp. Stowing things for travel, unhooking utilities, hooking up the truck, and just getting the wheels rolling again. Two rounds of breaking camp and two rounds of setting up, plus 700 miles of travel and we are ready for our next adventure.
This summer we will be in Upper Peninsular of Michigan. Our seasonal jobs are all lined up and we are researching the area. Tentative plans are being made for day trips and other excursions to explore a part of the country that we haven't been to yet. But that is about six weeks in the future.
That time will fly by. I am looking at the calendar and see that it is pretty full until we leave. There are things to do, people to see, doctors visits, and also our jobs here in Zephyrhills. Add to that the most important reason for staying this late in the season. Our grandson is graduating and we will not miss that milestone.
Well the calendar isn't going to clear itself so I will sign off now from our home in Zephrhills because....
Home is where we park it,
Frank and Mary
